Facilities

A few things we’re great at

Our lab is equipped with cutting-edge acoustic measurement tools and advanced facilities, providing an ideal environment for innovative research and precise data collection.

Anechoic Chamber

Our Anechoic Chamber is sourced from IAC Acoustics Global.

Maximum sound isolation

Our acoustics research lab is equipped with a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose anechoic chamber sourced from IAC Acoustics, a global leader in sound control solutions. This chamber is designed to eliminate echoes and external noise, creating an environment of near-perfect silence. Lined with advanced sound-absorbing materials, it allows for precise acoustic measurements, sound propagation studies, and testing of audio equipment in a controlled setting. The IAC Acoustics chamber is a versatile and essential tool for students and researchers, providing an unparalleled space for advanced acoustical experiments.

Acoustics and vibrations

We have a variety of state-of-the-art instruments for sound and vibration measuring, such as a KEMAR mannequin from GRAS Acoustics and Accellerometer module from Brüel and Kjær.

Data acquisition

In addition to our anechoic chamber, our lab is fully equipped with advanced instruments for comprehensive acoustical research. We utilize a KEMAR mannequin from GRAS Acoustics for accurate human ear simulation and sound measurements. For acceleration measurements, we have a Brüel & Kjær 4-channel Data Acquisition Module 3677, ensuring precise data capture and analysis. Our facility also houses a wide range of high-quality microphones and associated devices, enabling detailed and versatile acoustic testing. These tools provide our collaborators with the resources needed for cutting-edge research and development in acoustics.

Advanced prototyping

Our lab offers access to advanced prototyping tools. Everything from high end 3D printers, to a fully stocked electronics corner with a vast variety of SMD components for inhouse development.

Everything you need for prototyping

Our acoustics lab boasts advanced prototyping capabilities, including high end 3D printers from Prusa, allowing for rapid creation of custom components and prototypes. Complementing this is a fully stocked electronics workbench, equipped with all the necessary tools for developing and testing electronics and wearable devices. Whether designing intricate acoustic sensors or building bespoke audio equipment, our lab provides the resources and flexibility needed for cutting-edge innovation and hands-on experimentation.
