Brüel & Kjær LAN-XI acquisition
A professional Brüel & Kjær LAN-XI sound-and-vibration acquisition front end, supporting CCLD/IEPE transducers (microphones and accelerometers) and externally-polarised measurement microphones, with a built-in signal generator and a bandwidth of DC–25.6 kHz.
What it’s used for
- Precision sound & vibration measurement: microphone and accelerometer acquisition, frequency response, and transfer-function work.
- Generator-driven excitation for loudspeaker and system characterisation.
- The acquisition backbone for the lab’s impedance-tube measurements (absorption and transmission loss — see that facility).
The lab also maintains an open-source Python toolchain for the LAN-XI Open API, so acquisition and analysis run without proprietary licences — useful for reproducible, scriptable measurement campaigns.
Access for collaborators
Available for sound and vibration measurement projects, with support for instrumentation, calibration, and analysis.
